A recent study sponsored by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, Monitoring the Future Survey is used as a tool to indicate obviously as per the title the future of addiction and addiction treatment trends in the United States.

Addiction Rampant in the Military

An alarming report came out yesterday in the USA Today stating prescription drug addiction and abuse among US soldiers was at a more than an alarming level. Twenty Five percent of US soldiers have reported they had abused prescription drugs in the last year with the majority of the prescription drug addiction coming from pain relieving drugs. The Pentagon survey of US troops, 28,500 in all, show a 1 in 5 ratio of prescription drug abuse and addiction among Marines.

What Is Addiction

Addiction understanding Addiction is the miserable nightmarish state of compulsively using a substance, legal or illegal, regardless of logic, associated lifestyle problems and/or consequences relating to that substances use. Addiction knows no social boundaries be it race, religion, culture, economic, locational or age.
