Addiction Intervention and cocaine rehab centers

Posted by Addiction Counselor in Untagged

I have met with many families about performing an addiction intervention for a loved one and it never ceases to amaze me how much people are unable to see the obvious. I have been providing addiction intervention services in one form or another for the last 8 years and its so typical the responses by not only the families but the addict who needs help as well.

When some needs an addiction intervention it usually comes on the tail end of years of drug abuse and addiction which involves grossly irresponsible behavior, loss of job, incarceration and hospitalizations. Many families find it hard to believe that there is a problem and that someone who is totally stranger to the scene can come in and help after they have been struggling for years. When dealing with an addict who needs a drug addiction treatment and intervention please keep in mind the person really wants help, no one ever wants to live the life of an addict. They are lost and do not know which way to turn. This has been a lifelong trap admitting they have a problem is like admitting they are a total failure. Nobody wants to do that.

I often sit down with families and explain how an addiction intervention happens and what works best. I have almost a 100% success rate when the interventions are done my way. I assume total control and ensure I have control of the family. This is most important factor. Families involve to many emotions and thus make decisions based on how they are feeling which is detrimental most of the time. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cocaine addiction intervention for someone needing a cocaine rehab center or what. The process is the same. The goal of an addiction intervention is to gain the willingness of the addict to enter any of the cocaine rehab centers realizing there is a problem.

To do this those who provide addiction intervention services need to impinge right up front. The idea is to hit the person in volume with love and concern while doing the addiction intervention and providing consequences. If you go to the trouble of doing a drug addiction intervention and do not follow the instructions of the interventionist you have a strong chance it will not work. During the process things can get out of hand, especially of you are in the middle of a cocaine addiction intervention or any drug addiction intervention really. The emotions run high and control needs to in.

A quality addiction intervention does cost money but is well worth it. I have done interventions that were over in 30 minutes with the person willing and on the way to get help. Families have fought, begged and pleaded with their loved ones to no avail. It is well worth the money, so don’t hesitate if you think you need to get somebody to help. If you need help finding addiction intervention services  please give us a call and let us know, we can help.

Drug Addiction can be confusing

Posted by Addiction Counselor in Untagged

Drug addiction and the definition thereof is often confused with drug abuse, also known as substance abuse. This confusion has convoluted the issue surrounding the need for substance abuse treatment or drug rehabilitation, if it is warranted and to what degree. Many people do not consider substance abuse as addiction due to false messages promoted by those who profit from drug addiction and/or those with a motive to not reimburse beneficiaries for substance abuse treatment i.e. insurance companies. These organizations have vested interest in keeping the public misinformed.
